Peony Scrolls Card #1

July 19, 2016 Sidelle Menon 18 Comments

Hey Guys!I've been crafting a lot these days and I really like it! So for today's card, I used the beautiful peony scroll stamps from Altnew. They are my first set of Altnew stamps that I picked up from Crafters Corner a while ago and I'm going to get the most use out of them. So I made 2 A-6 cards with envelopes. I used 2 different patterned papers from my stash and cut them to 4*6 inches. After adhering them to the base, I added a few distress ink splatters of fossilised amber and abandoned coral. I stamped the stamps multiple times on a piece of scrap, coloured in with my acrylic colours and finally fussy cut them. This took nearly 3 hours to colour and cut but it was worth the effort. I adhered them to the background, added a hand written sentiment and a few sequins. Here are a few closeups.

Recycled Tag No.2

July 19, 2016 Sidelle Menon 10 Comments

Hey Guys!
So I'm back and today's post is a part of the recycling card series and I'm sharing a mini tutorial. So for today, I've used just one card to make the tags. Hope you enjoy the tutorial!

Step 1- Cut out four tags from the card base.

Step 2- Prep your base. Since I didn't have gesso, I used my modelling paste in a few places and also used a stencil with it.
Step 3- I added color to the tags. I wanted to create two different color tags. So I added colors and DI's to highlight the texture formed by the stencil.
Step 4- Next I used a few scraps of paper and colored them with DI's mermaid lagoon and cracked pistachio. Once they got dried, I stamped different background stamps to give different patterns. Once they were done, I rolled them up into rolls.

Step 5-  Cut and stick the rolls in the shape of a tree. The last step is to EMBELLISH! So i went a little crazy here. I added sequins, a quilled pot, star on the top and drew snowflakes with my 3D outliners. And I added a piece of ribbon to complete the tag. Here are a few closeups.

July 16, 2016 Sidelle Menon 22 Comments

Hi Guys! So I know that Christmas is a long way ahead but as it is my favorite festival, I thought of preparing for it from now only. So for today's card, I used scraps of paper to make my christmas tree, adhered it to a tag made out of scrap cardboard, tied a few pieces of ribbon, adhered that to a card base and finally added a handwritten sentiment. Here are a few pictures.

Recycled tag

July 13, 2016 Sidelle Menon 18 Comments

Hey guys! So I'm back with my second post for the day! Today I've made a recycled card from an old wedding invitation card. So here in India, we have weddings on a grand scale and the cards are grand as well. Over the years I've collected so many wedding cards and now its time to use them all. I will be doing a series on them soon. So for this tag, I attached a few pieces of scrap with modelling paste, added color with DI(worm lipstick and abandoned coral),added a few pieces of lace, doily, ribbon, hot glue embellishments and sequins. I stamped the bear from the Scrapberry's my little bear collection that I recently purchased from Crafters Corner. Lastly to finish it off, I added the sentiment LOVE. Here are the closeups.

July 13, 2016 Sidelle Menon 6 Comments

Hey guys! Today I have another card to share. For today's card, i used the sketch by Lulupu. First I cut a tag out of an old cardboard scrap and then glued down a few scraps of paper with some modelling paste. I painted it with shades of blue and added details with my hot glue gun, modelling paste, 3D outliner and a few more other stuff. To finish it of, I added a stamped butterfly which was colored with water color pencils. Lastly I stuck it in a piece of paper colored with blue water colors, added a handwritten sentiment and I am good to go. here are a few closeups.

Quilted Design Card

July 11, 2016 Sidelle Menon 5 Comments

Hey guys, So I'm back with another post. So for this card, I got inspired by a video of thefrugalcrafter on youtube. I love her videos, they are so informative and helpful. So she made a video on how to make a quilted backgroud with stamps but since I didn't have those stamps, I just made my own design and coloured in with my favourite water color pencils and basic sketch pens. I used the sentiment from the set http://www.crafterscorner.in/stamps-accessories/miss-caroline-dolled-up which is one of the new stamp sets that I had ordered from Crafters Corner. Here are a few pics.
